Tyler Ward is headed from Birmingham to Bethlehem.
Ward, a 2014 Lehigh University graduate, has been hired as the new Bethlehem Catholic football coach, the school announced Monday night.
He was most recently the assistant head coach and offensive coordinator at Oak Mountain High School in suburban Birmingham, Alabama.
“Bethlehem Catholic is extremely excited about Ty Ward joining our community and leading our football program …
He has coached and developed some of the country’s most elite student-athletes resulting in scholarships for all levels of college football,” Bethlehem Catholic athletic director Chris Domyan wrote in the release.
“We believe that he will be incredibly successful in his tenure at Becahi mostly evidenced by his desire and strong commitment to join the Becahi family.
He exemplifies Christian values and will lead our young men on the field, as well as in the classroom, and most importantly, in life.”
The Mountain-Hawk-turned-Golden-Hawk will attempt to bring stability to a program that finished last season under an interim coach.
Kyle Haas resigned seven games into the 2022 schedule; he went 6-10 during his tenure at Becahi.
